warning lights

hi
i have a 2000 306 hdi meridian.  this morning a light came on on the
dashboard and i aint sure what it is.  its orange and looks like a
helicopter (or an engine).  its one that usually came on when the car
started and then went off after a couple of seconds but today it
stayed on.  can anyone help please??

Looks like an engine with a letter K on it?   If that is the one, it is the
engine diagnostics light and means that there is an error message waiting to
be read.   This can be done by a Peugeot dealer (expensive) or pretty well
any car repairer (cheaper) most of whom also have the kit.
