the only way I've found to lock my 407 with the dog in it is with the
key blade - is there any way I can do it electronically one press
seems to be lock, two for dead lock, 3 presses and it flashes the
indicators a lot. Is three presses correct?

By pushing the lock button three times you're doing the following:

1 push
Locks the doors and arms the alarm

2 pushes
Deadlocks

3 pushes
identifies the car (when you've lost it in a car park), flashing the
indicators and lighting the interior.  That's all it's for.

In the manual, there are instructions on how to arm the alarm for
exterior, interior, or both alarms.  It's to do with that wee button
on the console that flashes. when you lock-up.

Hope that helps, somehow.
