307 Indicator turns on by itself

Hi Everyone,
My indicator on my 2003 307 turns on by itself.  It happens when I
turn right and then spin the steering wheel back anti clockwise to
straighten the wheels, the left indicator turns on by itself.  I
thought it was only my car doing that until I jumped into a friend's
307 and hers did the same thing.  Any ideas about this and how it can
be fixed?
Its a little annoying.
Thanks, Dan.

The actual switch unit called a comm unit (2000 on yours) is at fault .

Hi Tricky,

My 2003 406 has done this from new. Been back to my local stealership 8 times
and they say there is nothing wrong with it and never heard of this problem
before ! Got into the habit of manually cancelling the indicators before
coming out of the turn. It can be very annoying and dangerous.
There should be a recall for this.

Hi Mark, do you know what kind of a job is it to replace this unit.

Thanks for all the responses guys.  I will make mention to of it to
the stealership (like that) next time I'm in.

Similar probs on my 406 (V reg) were caused by a bit of loose metal
inside the switch unit.  Removed switch, opened carefully, cleaned and
put everything back together - ~20 mins, total cost £0, so beats a new
switch unit!

OK, maybe I will pull it apart myself, I mean, I have the service
manual CDROM.  How hard could it be.  Now...just need to find some
time to do it.
hehehe  Thanks guys.
Dan.
