Well i have tryed every thing i can think of .to stop this rattle but it is still there has anybody got any idea what it could be. it is coming from the main belt where the alternator is and the lolly pop tensionor which has been replaced,and it is not the bottom pulley as some had rubber ones, not any bearings, i have tryed spraying it with brake fluid which did stop it for about 4 days .. so i think it could be some thing to do with the belt. any body had the same proplem? > Well i have tryed every thing i can think of .to stop this rattle but > it is still there has anybody got any idea what it could be. it is [quoted text clipped - 3 lines] > brake fluid which did stop it for about 4 days .. so i think it could > be some thing to do with the belt. any body had the same proplem? It is beginning to sound like the only way you are going to find out if it is the belt or not is to replace it. At best it will cure it and at worst it will be eliminated. Another probably silly thought then. Is it a pattern belt or a genuine Pug one? I have known things like that to have an effect, particularly with inkjet cartridges but the principle is the same.
