Has anyone he experience on taking apart the external mirrors on a
Citroen C5. As there are many common part with the Peugeot I though I
would ask.

I have a problem with the mirrors reversing position on the near side.
Some times it doesn't dip down to reverse but then 'returns' to look at
the sky.

On the drivers side the mirror assembly does not always park against the
car or if parked correctly does not return.

I could always turn off those facilities or ask here.

You might get more luck on a Citroen forum, or alt.autos.citroen

I seem to have no luck in getting items to or from the Citroen news
group for about 2 weeks. So I thought I'd try here.
