Removing the centre console on a 407

Just purchased a second hand right hand drive one (1.6HDi S) and need to get
in to slave some power off the power supply to the cigarette lighter and run
a cable from this so I can provide a permanent power supply for my mobile
phone and have my satnav permanently wired in the right hand corner. I thus
need to get access behind the centre console, presumably by taking out the
various bits like the ashtray as I have done on previous cars.

Since I am new to Peugeot ownership, I don't know any good sites and a quick
Google doesn't want to give me the answer.

Cheers,

Guy

The obvious solution is the Haynes manual - the following link suggest
one exists (the Haynes for the 406 covered this sort of thing) but the
link also seems to offer it free on-line - seems too goog to be true -
let us know the result if you try it - I see two versions of the
manual listed - odd

A Torx T10 allen key removes the two recessed screws for the radio and then
the ventilation/computer/radio panel below falls out as it was held in by
these T10 screws. However, this still leaves the flipout ashtray at the
bottom that I can't work out how to remove.

Any thoughts please?

Cheers,

Guy

Whole ashtray assembly just slides up and then comes out once the
ventilation/computer/radio panel is removed as previously noted.
