307 Accelerator response delay

I note in these pages that I am not alone in noticing the huge delay between pressing on the accelerator and getting a response from the car! This length in the delay seems to be more when you call for full power suddenly, particularly from rest - just when you need it most to enter a stream of moving traffic.

I feel this problem is not just inconvenient, it's downright dangerous! I also drive a 4 cyl Honda Odyssey(also an auto) as well and the two cars are completely different in response. The Peugot is significantly slower to respond off the mark so moving between the cars requires a conscious change in driving behaviour. I have had a few scares and embarrassments where I forgot I was driving the 307!

Does anyone know if Peugeot are aware or even care about this problem? The local dealer sure doesn't seem to know anything!

Hello,

I've heard in this NG that a software upgrade was available to reduce the
lag. I don't know if it's true, though.

I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing this, sometimes it is very
annoying when someone in the opposing lane stop to let you turn and
you press and the delay makes them think that you want them to pass
instead of stopping to let you turn.
