I have a pug 306 1.6 XS 1996 and its a pain in the arse!! when first
starting the car it ticks over fine no problems.  But as soon as it
starts to get a little warm things start to happen, like irratic idle
jumping between just under 1000 up to 2000.  If i put the accelerator
down to pull away the revs drop and the car stalls. after letting the
car sit for a few minutes it starts and the revs
settle?Hmmmmmmmmmmm....I took the car to peugeot but nothing showed up
on the computer the technician was as usefull as a jelly leg...humminh
and harring about what it could be but not actually giving me a
straight answer, but still charged me for the privillage.  I've change
the Pentometre(throttle sensor) inlet air temp sensor, and replaced O
rings in manifold. still no joy........also while driving along the
car sometimes loses power but does'nt die just feels like its
pulling????
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP.........anyone with a similar problem who
has found the answer please let me know.

I know nothing about cars, but my mate had a simular problem, which he
resolved by cleaning the air filter / air intake, all the way down to the
butterfly inlet valve.

Sorry if this is no help at all.

Try to change your battery.  Although the car starts fine the battery might
have a low voltage. I have had similar problems with my Peugeot 2.0 Cabrio
1998 and after replacing the battery everything was fine.

when this doesn t work, check the lambda sonde.

I have the exact same car and the exact same problems it pisses me off too!

So your saying that all this would come down to the simple fact of changing
the battery to a more powerful 1?
It makes sense I guess..
