Low power 2.0 16V

Hi All,

I own a 406 2.0 16V. Last week the power of the engine is dropped in the
high revs. When you drive slow, everything is as normal, but if you need
more than 3000 revs the engine is gaining refs very slow.
What can be wrong?

Poor maintenance???
E.G: When did you last change the air filter???

The catatist is making noise, can this be the problem? A narrow passage?
