Guys:
I still use dial up on AOL and they are discontinuing the newsgroup service
link to this and other groups.
It states that a link to this group is available through Google. If someone has
it bookmarked, drop me a line with the URL and I'll bookmark it.
Otherwise, you won't see me around. LOL (because I can't get here).
Thanks,

Well, now there's one more reason to drop A(ssholes)O(n)L(ine) and move to
another ISP, eh?
In the meantime, you can access the group through the web via
http://extra.newsguy.com/
More specifically,
http://drn.newsguy.com/news-bin/wwwnews?newsgroups=alt.autos* gets you to
the neighbourhood, and these get you directly into the NG's:
http://drn.newsguy.com/news-bin/wwwnews?alt.autos.camaro
http://drn.newsguy.com/news-bin/wwwnews?alt.autos.camaro.firebird
Those aren't quite the same as a regular news client, but hey....they'll
serve in a pinch, anyway...at least until you switch ISP's. ;)

I always was aware that AOL sucked, this just strengthens the point.
They are correct, you can use Google to do groups, but it is a lame
way for an ISP to behave. But then AOL I guess always was a reluctant
ISP as such. As cool as Google is and all, there is just no
substitute for access to a genuine news server and using a proper news
reader client (such as Forte Agent). Good luck. I hope you find your
way in staying with us in the Google groups.

One of the reasons I quickly dropped MSN as an ISP a couple of years ago
is because they don't provide news service. Of course neither does Juno
(that I use for "on the road" access) but SBC/Yahoo provides a server
with my DSL service that I can use from anywhere. So it's no big deal
for me.
