i got my timing right i have a 650 cfm edelbrock carb and i am getting
smoke shooting up when cranking , no firing.  its turing but wont
fire..
Need help please.

If that's the case then you don't have something right.  You could
have the distributor 180º out or the dist. is firing before the intake
valves are closed, or the rockers are down too deep keeping the intake
valves open, or the cam was installed wrong, or who knows what else is
happening.  Start from the beginning again making sure that the cam
and crank are correctly set up.  You probably just have it firing much
too advanced but it's better to be safe than sorry.

    Don't forget the firing order, and direction of rotation.
