hello group.. i have a 2002 SS 6 speed, and the oil change light came
on... i want to do the oil change myself and had a few questions...
after im done changing the oil, do i have to reset anything in the
computer to make the light turn off, or does it do it automatically? im
putting in mobil 1 synthetic, so is 5 quarts enough?

any pointers/tips?

thanks in advance!!!

to turn the oil change light off
you turn your key to ignition without starting it and press your gas pedal
to the floor 3 times.

Your car's owner manual will specifically tell you how to reset the
oil life system counter.  My 2001 Z28 it is the turn the key to run
and hold in the tripometer reset for like 15 seconds.

As to the oil... Mobil1 5W30 is a great choice.  Buy yourself 6
quarts.  5 just doesn't seem quite enough usually.  Besides, it's good
to have a bit lying around just in case.
