Mustang ride versus Camarobird ride;
After the first year, Mustangs don't sound like rattletraps.
I rode in a 5 year old Firebird and thought it was going to
disintegrate.  I couldn't hear the radio over the creaking
and clanking.

Puulease, my 88' Bird with 180,000 miles on the clock shifts much

2.3 Sleeper has been my nick for a long time. I used to run a 2.3 turbo in
my 88, then a very reworked 2.3 motor. Alas, the day came when I moved back
into 8 cylinder country.

That would be why I have 2.3Sleeper...but drive a V8.

You're so right you can't.  But then, when the 2002 F-bodies still
stomp on the latest Mustings you don't really need to either.  When a
2004 can't outdo a 2002 then you say it is behind.

>Ford is behind GM? Go get your 2004 Firebird/Camaro and line it up against

What a clown you are. Trust me, I've forgotten more than you'll ever know about
vehicles---ask anyone in this group :).

World's largest car maker=GM. Yup, one of the world's largest COMPANIES.

Not Ford. Ford watches GM's taillights---not only from the vantage point of the
windshield, but financially and in sales too.

If you drive a GT, why do you use the handle of 2.3 Sleeper? I know the 2.3 is
a boring POS that puts me to sleep, so I guess the moniker fits it well.

Those were such sh.t it's amazing. Like all Ford products. Remember, they are
always behind GM in more ways than one.

And as the other guy pointed out, a 2002 Bird can whomp the latest Mustang.
Pathetic. LOL.

And a GTO will kill it too. LOL. Maybe your Motorcrap is what needs the Viagra.
LOL

BTW: RK is laughing his a.s off right about now. LOL.

I never understood why a Ford clown would hang around an F body group. Must be
nothing to talk about in the Mustang group except how many times your FOMOCO
has been pushed or towed on a given day. LOL

More like the world's largest SUV maker.

Yup, one of the world's largest COMPANIES.

Uhh, no.

Now see, trying to come back with a remark on that is just plain childish. I
keep the moniker because I have had it for 5 years. Oh...and I still have
the car as well.

> Those were such sh.t it's amazing. Like all Ford products. Remember, they are

Such sh.t that it is the number 1 dirt tracking engine. Takes more abuse and
can put out more power than the same class Chevy motor.

> And as the other guy pointed out, a 2002 Bird can whomp the latest Mustang.
> Pathetic. LOL.

I said a 2004 Mustang...not a 2005, which would be the latest. I don't think
a Bird would *whomp* an 05. But then, you are comparing two cars with
totally different prices. Would be better to compare your overpriced SS or
WS-6 to an '03 or '04 Cobra. Once again, no "whomping" going on there
either.

> And a GTO will kill it too. LOL. Maybe your Motorcrap is what needs the Viagra.
> LOL

Nooo, a GTO won't kill it. Maybe when they get the LS2 in it yes...but it
wouldn't *kill* it now.

> BTW: RK is laughing his a.s off right about now. LOL.

I seriously doubt it. He has shown more respect and courtesy than just about
anyone else in here...towards me anyways.

Not much different than in here.

Ford and dirt in the same sentence, now you're talking! :). Dirt=sh.t=Ford
products.

An apt description!

2005 Mustang? Well, it better be able to "beat" a 3 year old car, that's
technology for ya! Piss a.s shame it took them three years to figure it out!

And ya, RK is laughing as you can see from another post.

I still don't know why a 2.3 guy would hang around here. After all, don't you
have oil leaks and head gaskets to fix on that POS? LOL

Those were absolute junk in whatever they were put in, from the Turbo Coupe to
the Mustang. Slow, noisy, problem ridden, and  just FORD. LOL

Nah...2.3 is alright...just messing with him a bit..

Besides, unless GM suddenly surprises me in the next few days, I have a
black on black Mach1 waiting for me to make up my mind. Thinking seriously
about trading in the 92 Stang on it.

Come on CJ..you know I am not bothered in the least about gay jokes,
comments or the like. I like gay people...they pay in cash, and dont argue
about the bill...LOL

I was contemplating one a little while ago myself. However, as a
traditionalist, I couldn't handle the shaker combined with the sharp
drop-off of the hood line. In general, I have this problem with both
Mustangs and Camaros. The fact that I cannot see sheet metal past the
windshield when driving really bothers me. I need a sense of physical
perimeter, for lack of a better phrase. Also, both interiors are too
confining in the driver's area. In years past I've been most
comfortable in Torinos and Cyclones, which is probably why I have a
Crown Vic daily driver now. Flat hood, roomy interior. Not fast, but
adequate.

Reminds me of a few friends in the Navy that bought cars based on the length
of the hood. If you couldn't land a fighter jet on it, it wasn't adequate.
