My service manual has some wording implying that the dealer has an exchange
program for the instrument cluster.  My assumption is that you take in your
old one and exchange it for a repaired one.  Is that correct?  If so what is
the exchange fee?

$400 + tax.

What's wrong with yours?

This is the problem posted earlier here about the check oil light coming on
intermittently when there really is no oil level problem.  Another user
indicated that a service bulletin for the vehicle implicated the instrument
panel as the likely cause.

It could be a cold solder (sp) joint that is out. My 90 olds had kind of the
same problem. Hell, since it's already broken, run a soldering iron, and
some solder over the solder points, and see what happens. Just be careful.

Yes, that's a good thought.  Cold solder joints are relatively easy to
correct if one can get good access to them with a small iron.  If it quits
raining anytime soon I'll start taking things apart to get to the instrument
cluster.  Thanks for your input.

It never hurts to try that's for sure. Good luck to you.

If you don't want to repair it like I explained in your previous post, you
could just pull the bulb.

He fixed it weeks ago.
