I have an '05 Vibe GT and I'm wondering if anyone knows how to get rid of
the obnoxious beeping if there's someone in the passenger seat and doesn't
have their belt on. Also, is there any way to shut off the beep when the
car is in reverse?

The solution to both questions is "turn off the engine".
Never occupy or allow any other person to occupy any automobile seat while
the car is in gear without
using the safety belts as designed.
There's a reason the beeping is obnoxious - to make you comply.
If you can stand the beeping, then YOU be the passenger; just remember you
can't sue when have to be fed thru a tube and ventilated by a machine.

There is no way. It is part of the serial buss communication system.
You will have to live with the beeping.

Fasten the seat belt.
I wish I had when I had my accident in 1976. Totaled my car, luckily I
didn't total my knees.

Yes go to www.genvibe.com and search electrical forum. Takes less than 10
minutes. It is located inside instrument cluster, round black item at top of
seedo. Just pulls straight off. Set Tilt wheel to lowest position. Pull gage
bezel straight off. Remove one screw in top middle of cluster, pull cluster
out and unplug from harness. Remove about 12 screws from back cover of
cluster, pry or pull round balck buzzer straight off. Reassamble. I almost
returned the car because of this beeper. Made nasty notes on all surveys
received. Silence is golden....Wayne

Thanks so much! You're a life (and sanity) saver!
