Easy.  Just push the removal button and pull the head rest
straight out.

depends on the car, on j-bodys there is a clip that needs to be removed
before they will come off

If your looking to remove the headrest off a 70 Cadillac you just push
the release button on top of the seat and pull the head rest out. On my
91 Bonneville you have to make a sheet metal like shive to slide inside
the top of the seat where the head rest guide bar goes into. The shive
releases a tab about 8 down inside the seat, and then you can remove the
head rest.

Some seats need to be disassembled.

good luck

Sorry I should have specified that I have a 2002 grand prix . I poked around
and found a small hole in the back of the 2 plastic parts at the base of the
headrests , using a small allen wrench I pushed in these holes and released
the locks . thanks to those who responded.
