Does anyone have any experience with adding an adaptor to your stock GM
radio (07 Grand Prix, No Changer, No XM) to enable direct connection of
an MP3 player?

Looking for something that is, hopefully, selected by the radio (CD/AUX
button?) and is a direct connection, not a modulator.

Any suggestions appreciated!

Thanks,

I've got the Pacific Accessroy Corp AAI-GM24 unit in my '05 Grand Prix
GXP with premium sound and XM. I had to disconnect the XM receiver to
get it to work properly but others have had success without doing so.
Since you don't have XM it's not an issue but I'm not sure if the unit
will work on a headunit that is not designed to accept audio from an
external source. You may need one of their other products. Check them
out at http://tinyurl.com/ksnmc

Soundgate is the only other mfr that I know of which produces these
types of products but I don't have any direct experience with them.

Scott,

Thanks for the info.

My hope is that since there are really only 3 or 4 stock radio headunits
(UC1, UC6, the one that adds MP3 and the Nav Unit)  That I can just
attach something like that to the XM or Changer input and have the radio
think that it has the XM on there.

Or does someone know if the XM capability is programmed in the radio at
the factory?

Thanks again,

---Matt
