I have a 97 GP SE 4 dr. It rolled 100k here over the last
few months. It has been a near perfect car since I bought it
in December 1999. Now, the switch, the switch controls fan
operation for both a/c & heater-defroster. It has 6 positions,
off on left, then 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, max in that order, turning the
knob clockwise. All positions worked before Thanksgiving of 2006.
Then it slowly lost all except #5 & max. Also, this clicking
noise began to come from in the dash when I'd turn on the
switch in positions 1, 2, 3, & 4. In position 3 & 4 the
use of the switch will cause the DRL to shut off. DRL's
are daytime running lights. I've been told, today, the relay
under the dash may be bad. I also was told that at $80 per hour
labor rates, the cost to reach the relay could run as high as
$400. I just spent $700+ on it for all new tires, a wheel
bearing, and an alignment. I still need to tune it this year,
but overall I'm still way ahead on repair costs. When I got
it, I paid $7500 for it , the dealers were charging $16-17k.
It came from a leasing company, was company car for food
broker. Kept in perfect shape.
Any ideas?? BTW, is there only one fuse with
this fan motor?

This is the relay resistor, should be mounted on the blower case under the
dash behind the glove box, maybe 2 hours work at the most.
