What happens (and how do you correct) an R134 system that has been
filled with R12? Thanks to the local mechanic, the a/c on my fiancee's
car is now not working.

The system must be completely flushed and evacuated, it is  possible the
compressor is damaged also, the dehydrator must go. How did he do this as
the fittings are completely different?

Meat clever men are  capable of all.

I bet instead of buying the fittings, he spliced some hoses.

LOL
