Anyone get the "check gas cap" warning? Last week it popped up on the
display on my 2004 Grand Prix. I tightened the cap a few times but it keeps
coming back. Anything else obvious I should check?
Thanks.

Rusted filler kneck or split rubber hose on the filler or vent -
system is not holding pressure

The system is not holding a vacuum. Gas cap is one of the most common
issues. If you look in the engine compartment you will find a hose
routing label. Check all hoses and items listed on the label for cracks.

Try a new gas cap. If that's the problem it should clear after a few starts.
A round rubber seal wears out from twisting closed/open.
