Here is the problem. Sometimes when I start to take off the car seems
to have no power and then it takes off. Sometimes when I am driving at
highway speeds (55-60) the car seems to stumble and will shake. It
shakes enough to move the stearing wheel somewhat violently. I dont
notice the rpms reving higher at anytime, would that happen if it were
the transmission slipping?

It has 143000 miles but the engine runs great. Starts 1st time
everytime. It idles at about 1200 rpm and the tack stays right there.
no bouncing what so ever.

I wasn't going to reply, but, here goes: you never changed the fluid
or the tranny filter OR you have a broken or cracked flywheel OR the
shifter linkage is loose/worn/broken, etc.
