Not to mention the 914-6, of which I even owned one of the few to have A/C
installed.
"Horror" is reserved for the 1978 "special edition" 924, with VW (the
importer at the time) designed exterior stripe kit and an interior not even
a mother could love.

but even that "ugly" one handles really well.
I hope the Porsche quality remains - example - on my 944 and 993, there are
brake wear sensors on all 4 wheels (all 8 pads on the 993) - on my
daughter's Audi TT (an "upgrade" from her 944 that was smooshed) there is
only one sensor on one brake pad - I could list other things - I appreciate
a car that is comfortable, handles well, and is engineered to last a long
time - if they loose that I'll certainly stop buying.
That said, I am looking forward to the Panamera - if it's like a modernized
928, that might be a great car.
