2002 911: How to manually tune in a radio station

I am trying to tune in a station that does not get reception
(something like 87.9 FM). However, when I turn the dial, the radio
automatically tunes in to the next station that is available.

I do not have my manual which is why I am asking here

Oh, and the reason I am trying to do this is because I want to
transmit my iPod files via an FM Transmitter to this station.

Turn the iPod on before tuning the station. The radio will seek the signal
from the iPod.
