Hi -

Is there any trick to removing the dash gauges from an 87 targa?  The
Service Manual suggests just prying the gauge from the rubber retaining
ring.  This is not working.  Thanks for any help.

carefully, with the force necessary to remove the gauges out the front of
dash, twist and pull til each breaks loose....might help to remove the
steering wheel.
that's the secret....

I did not need to remove the steering wheel of my 84 to pull the speedo
- which died... I used a butter knife on the ring around the gauge,
prying gently, and eventually, I was able to pull the rest of the ring
off with my fingers. Then the gauge just came out. You may need to use
more force than what SEEMS safe, but that was OK for me... I did NO
damage. Just becareful.
