Has anyone any news when the successor to the current carrera - 996 will be
launched? This year.... next?

August will see the release of the new 997 body type. It's a 993
throwback with 996 accents, to my eye. In 2007 Porsche will release
the 998, which will reportedly be the first 8-cylinder 911.
