Hi folks,

I have a nice low mileage '85 Carrera 3.2 Targa. It's low mileage 'cos
it sits in a garage for much of the winter.

This winter was very wet. I try to take it out every two or three
weeks to dry it out, warm it up and keep the battery full etc. etc.
Things got busy after new year and I didn't get round to it until this
weekend ... and there's nasty green mould all over my nice leather
seats and dash!

We're not talking blanket covering, just spots here and there. On the
doors too. I can wipe off the fluff with a dry cloth, but you can see
some discolouration on the leather remains.

Anyone else dealt with this? What sort of cleaner or substance do I
need to get it back to normal? The interior is all black leather.

TIA,

CC

There's a product for this that I found called "Microban" that
removes mold and mildew and helps prevent it returning, but any
boat/yacht supply place should have something similar. The
discoloration can't be helped, except to re-dye the leather to match
using GlipTone or another product. Next time - silica gel packets.

Thank you! I knew there was a reason for keeping all the silica gel
packets that you find in the packaging for hard drives and CD drives
etc.! Very useful.

Will also check out Microban or similar.
