How long is a clutch cable suppose to last.  I replace mine about 2 years
ago along with the spring, and put on about 10,000km only.

A lot longer than that!  I drive about 30,000km/year and have not
replaced the clutch cable for several years.  My clutch helper spring
just broke this last weekend and is on order.  One tip told to me
recently by an experienced Porsche mechanic was to put on a lot of
grease when you install the cable, and also to use a 930 clutch cable
which will fit your car but is apparently a little sturdier.
