You might consider black floormats instead of ScotchGuard for the
interior floor - it would tie in with the interior trim as well as the
exterior.
I have a 2002 Carrera with an all leather interior and the large leather
package, so aside from dash faces, switches and carpets the interior is
leather. Lexol is a good leather product (they make a treatment and a
cleaner). I use Lexol to clean the leather ( when necessary) and their
treatment to do the dash, but for the balance of the interior I use
Effax leather balsam. (The Effax has lanolin and avocado oils and if you
get it on window glass it takes some work to get it off.) With the Effax
you apply a thin coat and let it soak in, although I always wipe it down
afterwards with a clean cloth.
I've also tried Connoly, Griot's and Zaino leather products but keep
coming back to Effax...........

Thanks for the reply. I do have a new set of black floor mats from
Lloyds. However, there are areas (left foot near clutch pedal,
threshold areas at doors) where carpet is exposed. I'm sure these
areas will become slightly soiled, and wanted a treatment that would
1) repell dirt/stains & 2) make it easier to clean if dirt/stains
occur. Jay.

Scotchgard it! It works...as I used it on the light "linen" interior carpet
of the "cherry" '88 Cab I just recently sold. You're right...anything that
light near our feet will get soiled. The Scotchgard had no effect on the
color. As a matter of fact, there are several good soil repellants for
carpet...and I've had no problem with any of them.
