...so I thought I'd post.
Hafta do the 45k service on the car pretty quick. Just got back
from a 1000 mile trip. The car performed flawlessly. I let the
girlfriend drive back since I was tired and she needed the practice.
Everything went well. On a back highway I got her upwards of 145 even
with the a/c on. The g/f snapped me out of it with an "Excuse me!" 70
looks like 20 after that. Oh, the grin...

Hey DS-
Saw your post.........a few months ago I responded to a post of yours
regarding CarFax. You posted back in the same thread and I missed it (my
news server stinks BTW) that's why I stay on the "Rennlist" board most of
the time.
Anyhoooo... Yes, I did find a very, very nice '98 Guards Red 993 C2S and
bought it for a great price. Since then I put in a RS short shift kit, RS
motor mounts, a set of PSS9s', adjustable RS sway bars, lowered and aligned
to RS specs. corner balanced and a few other odds and ends. This is my
seventh 911 in the last 30 years. A very neat car!! Come over and check out
the "Rennlist" board http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/ take care.
Regards,
Steve

Right on, Steve. You've done a few of the things that I'd like to get to
eventually. So far, I've added Robin's exhaust only. I'm patient though. A
chip may be next, but I have to be sure that I'm doing the right thing. Having
the 95 w/OBD-I makes that easier, I guess.
I tried to post to the forums, but my login is messed up. I've got an
email in to the admin. I've been a paid Rennlist member for a coupla years
now. Mostly I lurk and learn. Some smart guys out there in Rennlist. Out
here, I point more folk to Rennlist. But I had forgotten about the forums.
Thanks for the reminder.
I'm curious about how much you spent on your suspension and how the ride is
now. Do you drive it more on the track or street?
Best regards,
DS

We know the feeling. Wife and I opened up the 996 on a deserted stretch
in the desert and rang up 156. She commented that it didn't look that
fast out the front windscreen, but when you looked out the side
windows......It's amazing how competent these cars are.
