I am somewhat interested in purchasing a 1989 930.  Appears to be in
nice shape.  The PPI noted that the brakes are down in the 30-40%
range of pad left.  Anyone have a ballpark estimate on the price of a
front brake job, and a rear brake job?   This is more to get a sense
of the cost than to actually plan on doing it right away.  I am gunshy
because my Land Rover Discovery II needs front and rear and the cost
is $1200.

thanks-  Mark

Mark-

30-40% left.......that's not a lot but not critical. If you decide to get
the car, just do the job yourself. It's remarkably easy, just get the parts
and a power bleeder. I'd even do the LR.

Good Luck!

on my 993, each front brake job requires new rotors (they are worn beyond
limits by the time the pads wear out - about $150 for a rotor, plus price of
pads which varies depending on the type of pad - and about 10 minutes to 20
minutes per side to change everything - no need to bleed brakes either
