I'm looking at a 1978 911. I'm waiting for a call back but currently
this is the only info I have:

1978 Porsche 911 "WideBody" - $15000
----
This beauty is a all steel widebody recreation with only 72k.This car
needs nothing.Call or email for more info.

I can send pics if you wish but it looks awesome and the black looks deep.

My question(s):

I take it that this "conversion" is not completed by Porsche. So does
this harm the resell value of a 911?

What are your thoughts on having this work done? something about it just
does not feel right, I'm not sure why.

Typically, yes, it hurts resale by 10-15%.  Modified cars are rarely
worth as much as they would have been if they had been left in original
condition.

I tend to avoid these cars.  Who knows what kind of job has been done?
If you are really interested, it should require a full lookover by a
qualified body tech.  This would be in addition to the Porsche
mechanical check.

Go back and look at that '91...

I agree. the work looks really good (check out links below) but I can
also tell the plastic window on the top is not very tight. I think I'll
be sticking w/ the 91 with the 3.6l.
