this may seem silly, but once again - porsche vs corvette:
is it just me, or does riding in a porsche (doesn't matter which model) make
you feel all high and mighty - above the average man?
i've been contemplating a porsche, but i'd feel stuckup in one - driving it
with my nose up in the air, so to speak
vs.
a corvette, with a corvette...you could feel like one with your fellow man,
like 'one of the guys' - instead of feeling like their boss whom they
dislike.
driving a porsche makes you feel like a white-collar stiff, while a corvette
makes you feel just like a genuine guy's guy.
lol, any thoughts...?

No -- it makes you appreciate the fact that you are driving a piece of
precision machinery, one that is willing to obey your commands -- NOW!
I feel the same about airplanes -- some handle like trucks, while some
perform as thoroughbreds. It is all a matter of what you want.

you see, lol...Orval...you fit into that stuckup, nose in the air crowd.
(nothing personal)
corvette people are generally more "fun", if you will
while porsche people are the pedigreed 'boring' ones.
don't get me wrong, i absolutlely love porsche...but i'm just considering
every variable

If that's what you think, you should definitely get a Corvette.

trolling for angry responses? just buy the vette then - or if you want a
"regular guy" car, get a 65 mustang and be done with it. Personally, I
drive porsche because I like the comfort

Last year we had a Porsche and Corvette club event where we met drove in the
hills and met for lunch. Afer lunch we talked about cars and interests.
IMHO, all members of both clubs were interested in each others make and
enjoyed the company.
Heck, you can be "nose in the air" driving a Prius.....So drive what you
want, enjoy the camaradie with others who share your love of cars.
I own a 2007 Mustang GT, 1984 911 Carrera and a 2007 Mini Cooper...The
automotive "snobs" are not worth my time.
I did encounter a poor attitude when I owned my 1st Porsche (924S), a member
came up to me and said "you'll be much happier when you own a real Porsche"
our club President heard this and told the guy "we don't tolerate that
here!"

Well put Mike. Heavens...I owned a 924T...the "torque steer" champion of
all Porsches. I wonder what my fellow PCAers were saying behind my back at
that time?
Best holiday regards to all our regular posters!!

Just one - that you should look up a psychological phenomenon
called "projection."
