I have a late 85 oval-dash 944. The sunroof will not respond to the switch
on the centre console when in the closed position. If the roof is wound open
manually then it will close using the switch.

Also, the tailgate release switch in footwell was working fine, but now it
is dead. I see from the wiring diagram in the Haynes manual that the
tailgate release has a connection to the sunroof control relay - is it
possible that this relay has partly failed and is reponsible for both the
sunroof and tailgate release problems? I believe this relay is part number
944 615 117 02 ?

I have checked the fuses and they are ok. Also the two small relays mounted
adjacent to the sunroof  motor in the boot.
