Hello,
I have been advised by my dealer that the metal fuel line at the rear of
my car is badly corroded, it is the one that runs over the transaxel,
anyone replaced this as a diy job ? how difficult was it ?

It's a pig of a job apparently.
there was an article in 911 & Porsche world magazine a couple of months
back, but someone came up with an easier way of doing it using good quality
braided hose.

Right, The "easier" solution is in the August 2003 issue on page 26 It's a
letter titled "Pipeline Engineer"
