Interior lights problem - can you help?

The interior lights on my '85 oval-dash 944 Lux have suddenly developed a
problem. Despite checking out both the lamp units, and replacing both
courtesy light switches on the doors, the lamps now only go dim, not out
completely. I could hear a relay clicking so swapped that with a spare of
same type but to no avail.

I am probably being really thick, but I cannot find the switch which the
wiring diagram says should work when you open the rear hatch. Where is it to
be found ?

Any ideas what the problem might be please? All help will be greatly
appreciated - thanks in advance.

The switch is built into the base of the right-hand hatch strut, it usually
fails open (ime) though.
