I bought this car not running it had been setting for one year. It had
a flywheel dampner center broken. I have replaced the dampner put the
engine back in.

No fire to plugs while cranking, but one spark when I stop cranking.

Changed (in this order)

Cap and rotor
Battery
Main ground wires
DME relay (and tried bypassed)
Ref sensor (new OEM)
DME (used from a running car same #)
Bypassed alarm per jumpers acording to clarks.com
Checked adjustment of sensors
Coil
Compression good
Rotor turning
Sprinkled car with blessed water!!!!! :)

Any ideas of what else to try?
THanks

you probably have the two timing sensors reversed - check that - they are on
the back near flywheel

I did this job on my 944 automatic too - oh what a joy!
Also check the proper spacing of the sensor on the bellhousing and your also
check the IGNITION SPARK WIRES - or at least the COIL to DISTRIBUTOR
ignition wire.

My mistake was with the top dead center mark on the flywheel matching the
damper.  The flywheel had TWO marks.  The one TOP DEAD CENTER and another
one 180 degrees opposite.
But the car started and ran fine - but it rattled in the housing at idle
like a bit_h.   It was very tough to find the problem.

I was able to crow bar the bell housing far enough away to allow the
flywheel to rotate with the damper stationary - to align the other marks.
Thank god I didn't have to remove the transaxle again - or I wouldn't be
here to write this.

I have tried the swap sensor thing, and tripple checked the adjustment.

So it is possible to get the flywheel and dampner 180 out. OMG!!!!! Why
would they make it that way????
I remmember having trouble confirming the alignment.

Just a thought if the ref sensor reads a single screw rotating on the
flywheel. I can see it causing an out of time thing but could that
really cause NO spark ?

I guess I'll be pulling the engine again. #@&*@#!!*##$

there is one sensor for TDC, one sensor for ignition (i think it has two
screws)
