2.7L in an '83 944

i'm in the middle of putting together a purchase of an 83 - 944 that has no
engine. i have a 2.7L out of an 89. can i put that engine in with no probs?
anyone done this? any pitfalls to look out for?

It should be straight forward, with the exception of the computers, and
perhaps a little bit of the wiring.  These might have changed over the
model years a little.  I'm not that familliar with the 2.7, never
having owned one, but I do know folks put different engines into
different cars (turbo, S, S2, etc).  But also, don't expect that you'll
do the job without some small problems!
