I have 1987 - 944 automatic --- I just finished cleaning some leaves
particles that actually got into the cruise control actuator.  But now my
throttle cables are out of adjustment.

Anyone know the procedure for adjusting the accelerator cable to throttle
body.  I know the cruise control cable should be adjusted so the roller
above the accelerator pedal is without stress.
So what about the cable to throttle body?

I kind of remember that the throttle cable pin attachment on the throttle
body should be just free from stress.

If these adjustments aren't perfect - the cruise control suffers.
Anyone help here?

OK y'all - since no one knew the answer - I FINALLY found the answer myself
in the service manual - duh.  Where?  I thought I looked everywhere...?But
then came to me
in  flash - a day after I posted this question.

I found in the TRANSMISSION section - I  looked on every page - BUT the
Transmission....

And after following the manual carefully!!!,  I just returned from a 200
mile trek to
Pennsylvania (where????) and the Porsche runs like its new.  Porsche really
makes the best cruise control I ever drove - when it's adjusted correctly.

So if you never did, or just bought a "new" Porsche without adjusting the
THROTTLE CABLES, and CRUISE CONTROL CABLES... go to the TRANSMISSION
section...

1987 944 - 250,000 miles, runs better than ever!!! really....oh  yea - 8000
mile oil changes!!!! and my engine purrs like we wish our gf would.

Well - best cruise control because it maintains it's speed so carefully, and
it's always on...but not so good because I loved this Toyota where if you
want to go 5 miles faster - you click the cruise lever 5 times and same if
you want to go slower...but not on my 1987 cruise control.
