I have a 87 944 that keeps blowing the heater ac fuse. I have had this
problem for a while but forgot about it over the winter. I have
unplugged the Compressor and replaced the relay and it still blows the
fuse right when the key is turned on. If I remove the ac relay the
heater works fine and doesn't blow the fuse.. Is there a known place
where wires like to rub through on them? It really has me boggled.
Thanks

you do not specify if this problem ocurs only when the AC is selected on, or
at any time when the relay is in place - that would be a helpful thing to
know.

the most obvious place to look is at the wire to the compressor clutch

It only happens when ac is requested. I have the single black wire
unplugged that runs to a plug with 2 wires in to 1 from the
compressor. Is there another plug for the compressor? I have also
unplugged the cooling fans but still no luck. Thanks
