My oil pressure relief valve seems to be leaking oil.

I have ordered a new sealing washer and o rings.

Is this a common fault? Is there any problem with the removal and refitting.

A new complete valve seem very expensive.

Could be the result of quality of lubricant you use
or periodicity of oil change.

First post here to my knowledge.

I very highly recommend the Valvoline products.

Further investigation shows that the problem is not the relief valve but the
gasket between the "oil cooler assembly" and the block.

Parts are on order, the gasket seems expensive, there is an article on
rennlist which seems clear but any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks

Alec

Have been through this drill.
Recommend you have your mechanic do it.  Need to put car up on lift.
Not impossible
but difficult job.  Three hours.

this is not hard, but take your time, it is very tedious.  be sure to align
the pressure relief valve per instructions or you will be very unhappy.

are you sure the valve is leaking and not the pressure sender or someting
else?  I've never seen an external leak from the valve itself, though of
course it is possible- but I have seen pressure senders leak
