How important is the power steering heat exchanger?  For reasons I
will not get into, I want to remove the power steering heat
exchanger.  Is this an important part of the system or can it be
bypassed and removed without circumstance?

it all depends on how much steering you are doing.  If you are just driving
on the freeway, no problem - if you are flailing around a slolom course in
scottsdale in August, then possibly a problem.

if yours is damaged, just repair the tubing
