Hi All,
My 1986 944 Turbo (non ABS) has started squeaking from
the front disks when I brake at low speed. It doesn't
happen when braking hard but only when slow braking in
town traffic.
THe disks and pads were replaced only a few thousand
miles ago with OEM parts.
any suggestions on what to check?
Thanks, Tim.

Check that the anti-squeal compound was applied to the back of the pads
when they were replaced. If you used the cheaper pads, get used to it
for awhile. Mine squealed for a few months after replacement until they
were broken in. I don't recommend that you do this, but I sprayed them
liberally with WD-40 when they started squeaking and they eventually
stopped altogether. The brakes were VERY slippery after doing that for
the first couple of times that I pressed the pedal. Good luck.

Did you apply an anti-squeal product?
I personally like the spray on type.
