I have a UK 924S which originally had no rear antiroll (sway?) bar. The
ride height is ridiculously high and it drives like a saloon. Handling
and driver satisfaction is far inferior to the Audi 924 I had
previously.
I have lowered the rear suspension as far as possible on the adjusters
(not much), fitted Konis on the front and 968 antiroll bars front and
back. It's still useless and it's clear I either have to throw the car
away (it has hardly any market value) or get it lowered properly. I have
neither time nor skill to do the torsion bar thing myself.
The question is - would I need to change the torsion bars for stiffer
items as well or would just the lowering job give me a more sporty ride?
I don't want extreme low or a track car - I want a sports car for the
road instead of a soft saloon.
Also, would front springs from a 944 be any use?
Anyone else been in this area before with one of these softened up
924Ss?

Sound you need to get new shocks on the back too and get them adjusted
properly.
New front springs costs about 90 euro and will lower the car 30mm. Adjust
the back height the same. For a stiffer back you can install coilover
shocks. I don't think it worth the costs on a 924s.
Very important are the tires. 16 inch of a 944s2 will probably still fit
with 225 at the back and 205 at the front.
I drive a 944. When I had 924s wheels on it for a while it had a loose
feeling with cornering. When I changed to 17 inch it made a big difference.
