The Alarm Control Unit in my '86 944 has failed. (I know it's the unit as I
swapped it with a known good unit and it cured the problem.) Falsely indicates
an intrusion even with the unit turned off - horn, dean DME, etc. Relays appear
good so I suspect a failed component.
I believe the alarm system was an option. If so, it would seem relatively easy
to defeat. Any experience with that strategy?
Alternatively, any known source for replacement unit? (Groan.)

It's a US model with alarm lock on quarter panel.
I also swapped the lock for a known good unit - it's the alarm module itself.
I've defeated the alarm by removing power at the 2 pin connector.
