Can air bag steering wheel be replaced?

My 87 951 has blown the bags in the past and the air bag controller needs to
be replaced anyhow, just a track car now, can aftermarket steering wheels be
fitted or are you stuck with the airbag wheel forever?

The aftermarket wheel makers will not offer an adapter kit
for airbag equipped cars. You can try to see if an earlier
kit would work, or use your current wheel as a starting point
and cut it apart/fabricate the kit from it, but really as far as
a bolt on easy job, the answer is no.

any of the 86 or earlier steering whells will fit on the 87 ,

So the shaft is definitely the same as non-airbag 86?
