The release button on the emergency brake popped out and the lever
will not hold its position. Has anyone ever had this happen to them
and know how to fix it?

Thanks in advanced...

you can either buy a new button for about $3 from Porsche, or you can
machine a steel insert with an M5 thread on the inside (I did the latter).

Thanks for the advice. I'll keep the group posted on the outcome.

sounds like the cables have streched allowing the handle to be pulled up
to high and the latcheing pawl is now out of position allowing the
button (and rod) to pop out....  disconnect the brake cables from the
lever..., reach under the lever back near the pivot point , while
pushing the button in, rotate the pawl back into position , hold the
button in, lower the lever back to a full down position, re-tighten the
brakes cables
