blower on all the time HELP!!!!

Im having a major air blower problem. I checked the blower relay and
bench tested it was bad so I replaced it end of problems right, thats
what I thought till I turned the key foward the blower is on all the
time, (turning the switch all the way to the left the blower is still
on but vary vary low speed and to the right the switch works normaly
med., med/high, high) and to add to that the resistor located in front
of the blower is heating up, I was thinking its the switch but why
would the resistor heat up, all i know is whatever this prob. is
probably blew the relay someone help!!!!!!!!        -bone stock 83

The fresh air blower is supposed to be on all of the time when the key
is turned. It's supposed to work just as you describe.

is the resistor supposed to get hot tho, and what is the resistor I
