944 owners in the US: How much does it cost you to fill your 944 when
it's on 'R'? Where I live, the price of gas is around $2.10 a gallon.
When I put $26.00 worth of gas in, it barely reaches a full tank...

gas here on the west coast is about $2.50, the 95.5s and later have a 21
galon tank, the light should come on with 2 to 3 galons left -

at roughly 12.5 gallons ($25/2.10), not surprised it doesn't show full.

,  at R there is about 1.5 gal left in the tank and it is a 20 gal tank,
do the math

Be happy ! I live in Europe and a full tank of gast (80 liter) is about ?100
( 1$ = +/- 1.23?)

Yikes!

I did have my first $40 fillup a while back, that was running on fumes
tho (17 gallons IIRC)

I spent sometime with one of my company UK units a couple of years
agoand as a "Salaried" Engineer one of my perks was a company gas card
that I was free to use up a rather high monthly limit (along with a
company car, size and type based upon pay grade).   When I asked about
it, I was told that due to the way the UK taxes wages, this was one way
to give employees "raises" without triggering the outrageous tax
rate...   so the $5 a gallon cost was totally a don't care issue.,  Not
so in the US where gas comes right out of pocket...

Actually here as well a company car often comes with a gas card.  I
don't have one though (yet - actually in 2 weeks I should be starting a
new position that *does* have a car)
