Heater valve is either broken or the cable to heater valve is off or
broken.

Cheapest fix you'll ever do on a 944. About a buck and 10 minutes time.
See http://www.tech-session.com/kb/index.php?page=index_v2&id=44&c=4 .
Good luck.

What year car? Early models like mine use cables to manually open and
close the heater valve )It’s the black plastic "thing" between the
engine and the firewall. If you switch the lever to cold check to see
if the lever moves on the valve. If not grab some cable ties and high
temp hot glue. Pull the center stack apart (it’s pretty self
explanitory) and what you prolly have is the metal clips snap into
plastic retainers and the plastic retainers are broken. Check the
vents clips too. Whatever is broken move the platic outer sleeve into
a position that it can be tiewrapped to the plastic. Once tie wrapped
hot-glue the crap out of the tie wraps to keep them there. Mine has
held for 6 months so far and still will not move and it works perfect.
If it’s an later model they are vacuum and I have no idea... :)
