Hi All
I have a 944 Auto which no longer shows which gear it is in. (should be via
lights on dashboard). It always was a bit intermittent but now it is
completely broken.

My question is how do I get to the switch? Do I need to get underneath or
can I remove the gaiter from inside the car and see all I need to see?

Many thanks.

The switch is in the console.  If you remove the plate around the shifter,
you will be able to see the switch.  It's basically a contact that moves
with the shifter that moves along several other contacts that correspond to
the gear it is in.
